Ok. I have read this kind of stuff for various companies and I feel I need to reply.
We have weird/strict rules at our company as well. But, the only way your getting in trouble is if your not following the rules. Period. Companies can't afford to stay in business if they are always firing people. Even a company as big as Saia. I think too often what you don't hear, and what too often is at the heart of the issue, is the individuals getting axed just couldn't follow company policy. Period.
You can bring up any policy you want and I promise you I can tell you where individuals are pushing the issue. I've seen it for too many years doing this.

 

At the end of the day, the impression I get from SAIA is that they may be a bit more rigid on safety and protocols than most are used to.

HOWEVER, while they don't pay top tier in LTL, they pay very fair, and far above most OTR setups, and their compensation more than adequately offsets you needing to adapt to their structure.
