Why are you parking in truck areas?!?
In PA there are convenience stores that have been kind enough to provide parking for trucks so we can get lunch or take a 30, maybe call a broker or book a load for a few hours.
So why are you 4 wheelers sitting in a huge well marked truck space eating a sandwich in a Subaru?!? (Contractors seem to have started this, if they're pulling a trailer I could see it but not a jacked up 250)
GO PARK ON THE CAR SIDE!!!
(Possibly needs to go in rants.)
Just to reverse this: I have a question FOR the general public.

Sad to say it but until reading on this site, I had no idea of the challenges with inaccessible places, lack of parking, hos timing, unprepared shippers and receivers, etc faced by truck drivers. Signage should be sufficient but I think some 4wheelers are clueless, and a few of all types think posted signs must apply to everyone else only.

Dont worry after the lanternfly gets done with PA there will be no subaru drivers left

Are you really expecting the general public to know anything that they were not told by the media?

A few years ago some PR group got a huge grant (and private investment as well,) to do a PR campaign to educate the public about trucking. I think all I ever saw of it was a silly mascot (looked like a plush Cars knockoff done by a HS.) and an article in those free TA newspapers. But it wasn't a small budget, a couple of million I think.
I thought, for that kind of money? They could have made a new trucking TV show. Not a reality show either, but something like a modern BJ & the Bear (but without the monkey) just showing a truck driver, his lifestyle, his friends, etc.
I remember the "hey good buddy" trucker fad of the 70's and I think a modern show might just catch more of the public's attention than a PR campaign. (Besides, how many variations of Cop/Lawyer/Politician/Doctor can we do at this point?)bzinger, Cattleman84, Dave_in_AZ and 1 other person Thank this. -

While we're at it, go fill your hopped up diesel pickup at the auto diesel pumps instead of holding up trucks at the truck diesel pumps because you're so "cool."
