You make broad statements and hasty generalizations that don't always apply in every circumstance in the real world with DOT or police stops / checks. Don't assume authority.

After you've been in the industry for 14 years, as you said, you should know better than to assume that law enforcement will emphatically check a driver's phone after being involved in some type of accident...the rest of your argument hinges on that precipitous assumption and isn't even worth commenting on.

I am going with my experience, at the company's I worked at, nothing more nothing less.
Are there company's that have those features activated? Yes, of course there are, none of the one's I have ever worked but I know they are out there..
As far as the subject of cell phone map apps, I am going with what the safety dept say's at the company I currently am employed at, nothing more, nothing less.

 

here at wm we use the navgo all the time. we have to use it to show the geo fence around the stores, clubs and vendors. plus i run my own garmin that has a chip upload of all the stores, clubs and vendors we deal with. i just bring my gps in the office and get them to upload info from micro usb card
