Hi,
I graduated from trucking school last December, but I was 20 at the time and now that I turned 21 just yesterday, I'm trying to find a good trucking company that's best suited for me. Tomorrow I'm going to get the "Interstate" restriction taken off of my CDL and I also already have all my endorsements except for passenger and hazmat (I'm going to get hazmat asap). As far as what kind of truck driving I'm interested in, I guess it's Regional (preferably out West) because I want to avoid the Northeast for awhile and driving a tanker sounds good from the information I've gathered on here. Some of the problems I seem to be running into are my age, I haven't had a job yet (apparently a lot of companies need 6+ months of verifiable work experience), maybe even a refresher course due to being swindled into thinking I could be a trucker at 20 (or maybe that's just me and my special case), and finding companies that will hire an entry level driver/provide quality and extensive training. I live in Louisiana, but I have an uncle that lives in Texas and he said I could use his address as my home address, if that'd help.
Best regards, John

Some trucking companies hire 18 year old drivers.
Now that you're 21, there's plenty to choose from.
Schneider Bulk hires 21 yr. old drivers and also has a refresher course. Need hazmat endorsement. Schneider Bulk hauls a lot out of Louisiana.

Here's one that will probably hire you and it's relatively small compared to mega.
Probably do some California runs with a trainer.

Sorry to say but your first year with zero experience you will probably just have to suck it up and prove you can do the job safely and chuck it up to on job training then after that the doors will really start to openD.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
