I dont work for Barney but I work for one their competitors in Safford , AZ hauling acid, looks like they run some nice equipment , I have talked to their drivers and they do slip seat their trucks but they also pay the most per load for that region compared to other carriers, infact the company I work for and another carrier in the area just raised the load pay for their drivers because as rumor has it they had to compete with Barneys pay rate to keep drivers, so Barney is good in my book I got a raise because of them ha ha, in all seriousness though if the carrier I worked for lost their haul contract or something I would consider working for Barney , but for now I feel I am treated pretty good where I am at and it's not worth leaving for a few more bucks a load just to start over again.

how is it in safford, i'm from phoenix, but i've been in the oil field for the last two years.
i've really thought about moving to safford because its close to alot of great mountain areas.
i'm in hobbs nm which is next to jack crap and below nothing,
and do you know anyone working for CTI in that area, i see their add on indeed.comLast edited: Sep 16, 2019

Oh man I wrote this awhile ago, Safford isn't bad, it is a small town though, and does get hot in the summer, but if you are from Phoenix I am sure you are accustomed to that, it does have the normal amenities also, restaurants, bars, gas stations and there is a wal mart also and some other stuff, the mountain ranges you described is what I liked about it, it also has numerous cotton fields that surround the town, most the people were small town friendly also, I actually live down by Huachuca City, but technically lived in Safford for about 5 months when I was working there a week at a time.

CTI is who I worked for when I was up there, but I haven't been employed with them for two years now, I did like the work and made pretty decent money hauling acid for them, it's when they brought me back to the Curtiss yard down by Benson which was my domicile terminal that things went sideways, couldn't make the kind of money out of Curtiss that I made up in Safford, I do know they have a new regional manager now and yes they are hurting for drivers in both Safford and Curtiss, but I would hire on for Safford terminal, don't apply for Curtiss because those the commodities don't pay as well.speedyk and silinus vers Thank this.

yea I was looking at safford, i'm in hobbs nm now hauling oil. money is great, but I hate the location. being out doors is what keeps me sane, and I ended up somewhere there is nothing out doors for 3 hours around. I may also consider going back to phoenix to haul fuel again, I regret leaving that for the oil field. but I didnt want to be around while they build that new leg of the 202 bypassUSMC 3531 Thanks this.
