But I have this sweet looking hat I got from a Schneider recruiter and it has an American flag design on it, it may have been made by an underage foreign worker in a sweatshop with no air conditioning, but ###### Schneider loves America!

Oh I almost forgot a fairly important question I haven't been able to figure out myself. What should I do if I didn't get a good night's sleep, or I'm simply fatigued from driving, but I can't take any real time break due to the Elog system that apparently thinks you're a robot? I know the obvious answer is to say "screw it" and take a break, but I read if you're late delivering loads you could be fired and I really can't afford to mess this up... Any advice?

Your body will adjust to the odd hours. Always think ahead and decide if any decisions you make will affect your job, as far as fatigue.
Should I drink this cup of coffee right now?
Is this Red Bull going to affect my rest break that's due in two hours?
    and so forth.
Laying in the sleeper; should I play one more video game or close eyes?
All this will become 2nd nature.

I've driven one of those. Fine for one person. It's a one bunk condo.
Now they're buying Ultra Lofts... 2 bunks. More room. I already carry so much stuff. The storage of the extra bunk might be dangerous for me. I already play around with heavy steers.
They're also buying Freightliners now. Everything 2 bunks.

The best way to enter trucking is to find the company you REALLY want to work for and THEN go to CDL school. Not all employers accept all CDL schools. Some employers have their own CDL school.

You wouldn't pick a wife based on which jewelry store had the cheaest rings or pick a wife based on which church has the cheapest ceremony on the day you want. Pick a company then pick a school

Get a consistent start time. Not that you won't ever be tired but at least you will have a schedule to get on. That works for me anyway

If you go over and read in the LTL section. A discussion there. Guys who are doing linehaul, P&D, Dedicated.... but also did OTR. They're admitting they have spent more time tired in the daily driving versus OTR. Always a chance to take a nap or somehow rest in OTR. But the daily stuff. You gotta run straight through no matter what.

Is there any way I could drive at night? I'm a bit of a night owl and waking up in the am isn't really my specialty
