Don't forget, he's got 3 shorties, the wife doesn't work outside the house--to take care of the shorties, AND a new truck payment. You'd be high NOT to try to kill that bill asap. Also, i'd ASSume a mortgage or rent payment of some sort?

Fortunately my home is almost paid off. The rest of the shorties add up for sure.

Anyways, would a reset be necessary IF enough hours drop off the previous 7th day and so on?

In the above FedEx example, IF we ASSume 12 hours days monday thru friday this would be 60 hours total so far. This would then leave 10 hours for work on Sat or Sun.

We then ASSume 10 hours of work on either Sat or Sun, 70hours total worked. Thus no further hours available for work-----UNTIL 12am monday morning----- when 12 hours drop off from the previous week's monday making the current total hours worked 58 and allowing 12 hours for today(monday)? Same for tue, wed, thurs, frid etc.?

This is a very risky, uncomfortable, yet do-able scenario?

Is there an online computer of some sort we can play with? i'm actually trying to get some weekend stuff going again as well for reasons i don't want to get into right now.

Yes, recap is possible to run and make this work to run 7 days should I choose.

The way it’s looking is that I’ll likely run every Saturday to give my clock a fresh start for FX to do what it will with it. At least until I get a solid footing of how this new company operates.

This check was a crap week. Between running out a 16hr exception, then running out of hours and having to lay down in a hotel for 10 hours and as a result, losing a night of work in the process. I was happy to start the weekend early, but wasn't keen on losing out on the $350 for the run and burning 8hrs of time to salvage the end of the week.

Also of note, it seems that my question about the top out seems to be what I came to expect, so it'll be in October, so will hang out on the 2nd year rung for another month. No biggie.

This week was a pretty good week, aside from running a 14 out every day (as usual). Standard out and back with no vias. I love running vias, they just don't get down to me enough since I'm not on the New Jersey run anymore. Great naps though. My truck is due for a PM from the hub I'm bidded to. This will be interesting because I was told by a mechanic that visits my terminal that he'd be doing the PM at my yard on the weekend, which I hope is the case because there will be a much higher probability of getting fresh drive tires going into the winter.

Last thing I want is the hub to do the PM and have their city drivers run the tractor for P&D.

The PT gig I landed didn't pan out this week. When I did my training run with them last Sunday, I told dispatch that I'd be available on Saturday after 4, but the lady I spoke to mistakenly put me in for Friday, so of course I was surprised to wake up on Friday evening to a VM from them asking where I was, and by that point in the week, all the loads were planned so it was too late to get a run this weekend. Oh well, there's next week.

Plus, I've admittedly been pretty hard on my 7 year old lately, he's just struggling with managing endless amounts of energy and it clashes against my docile personality. So, in this aspect, it was great to spend the day with him goofing around. Ended the evening with him asking me to teach him to cook something (he has always loved cooking), so I taught him how to make sausage and peppers. Find me a 7 year old that can tell you how to tell whether the San Marzano tomatoes you are buying in the store are ACTUAL San Marzano's. When asked, he will now explain how true imported San Marzano tomatoes are always peeled, never diced, etc and have certain authenticity seals on the labeling (Italy has similar protections to Scotland as far as the use of labeling liquor as Scotch whisky).

Awesome way to start the week... come in to Pre trip my truck and square it away... first thing to find all of my drive tires and rims were replaced with new over the weekend.
    Happy happy Monday!

Figured I might as well start posting my checks too, for a different perspective compared to big money @McUzi!

I could put in a couple more hours on the dock each day, but I really don't feel like it. To me, it's not worth it to turn my 9 hour day into a 10-11 hour day and have to deal with traffic headed back to the terminal and going home.

Awesome, please feel free to continue!

That’s a considerable amount of drops and hooks for that mileage. What does your bid consist of?

Do you only work dock at the hub or will they let you run the hostler?

Out of the 20 hours you put in, how many strips would you say you worked that week?

My bid is a short run to the hub, then dock work all night, followed by a short run back to my terminal. I just happen to usually get more miles/drops/hooks and less dock work due to the needs of the hub.

I've expressed interest in hostling and got to do it a few times, but they already have enough regulars so I don't do it often.

Strips as in trailers I've worked? Usually 1-2 per night. I take my time and try to do things right since the main dock supervisor does not talk to drivers about having a poor bph rate.
