But flashy doesn't pay the bills. And what's in your dump truck is still freight. With a lighter truck you can carry more of it and make even more money, but to each his own.
What to drive?

Well my truck is hired by the hour and paid mileage. It'll haul a lot more freight in the back than the smaller Mack's and Internationals running around. Julie has the truck booked next week. She wants the extra money and she likes it. That truck will gross 4 to 5 thousand dollars a week. Trucks paid for so no payment. Uses $700 to $800 fuel in a week. Insurance is $560ish a month. Minus taxes, expenses, etc. That truck still turns in a healthy paycheck. Profit margin is good, work is plentiful and easy. Eh, I'm happy. I like a head turning truck with some nuts.

What do you got............
-
Pete 379 dump. It has a 550 horse CAT diesel, 10 speed (ugh, need more gears), and tri axle drive.
With the new paint and freshly polished chrome and stainless she sure is pretty. It's a great truck, runs good and really gets the work done.

What kind of box you got? -
Sits off the ground just fine. It was built to be a dump, not a converted OTR truck. It has a steel box.
Our new truck will have 4 drive axles, a tag, a steer and an aluminum box.
