Other than the basic tools (e.g., wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, pliers, etc.), what are the necessary special tools needed to work on semi's in heavy equipment/diesel mechanics? (for instance: battery, brakes, fuel lines, pullers, engine repair, drive-train, etc. etc.).
On the other hand, what are some special tools that you absolutely do not need? For instance, tools and pieces that the tool trucks urge you to buy but you really do not need it, a shop does not even need to buy it, or a tool that eventually just gets tossed aside.
