Schneider dedicated tractor supply run...

Schneider has a new Costco dedicated posted here in Houston, TX. It seems like a pretty sweet gig especially for a new driver, easy access, 100% drop-n-hook, etc. The hitch I've been trying to figure out is the pay of course? I'm curious if the CPM would be similar to what your saying for Dollar General? From what I've heard though that DG account is generally poorly regarded b/c of the poor access to the stores, the unloads, etc., etc. which is a big part of why they always seem to need drivers for that acct.

From what I understand the miles would be pretty descent for Costco, the distro center is about 20 mins from my house and would deliver to stores throughout TX, OK & KS. Just don't know what the cpm would be?

 

I don.t know on that one, But Goodman AC manufacturing is there in Houston, I think Legend was looking for a dedicated Houston driver to run shutle loads over to (or near) the TJ Max DC south of San Antonio (They have a drop yard near the freeway by the DC) It would be loaded to San Antonio and empty back, They were at 50 cpm when I was there.

 

Most were. Stores actually built for TS Weren't too bad.

 

That's really subjective, what difficult or easy for me maybe just the opposite for you. No way to answer that one.

 

The newly built stores are fine. The ones where they bought an older store can be a pain sometimes.
But overall, TS was 90% a pretty good run.

 

The main issue with backing in or access period is to park close walk down and figure it out before you start. I learned this one from pulling double tankers into plants, those you basicly cant back out.
First dont lose any sleep over it, handle what ever you need to handle when you need to, take a look at google maps get a layout when possible. Bit don't freak yourself out before you need to., you will get thru that store, always better to figur out before stores open if you can.

One of the accoutns I take care of is driving relief for Advanced auto parts in central Ca. All old stores, the good part I deliver at night after there closed, makes backing in lots easier, these runs are normally abot 10 stores and 400 miles in a night. Getting in before the lots fills up always helps, when you can.

 

When I started unloading my Dads trailers they were 39' less than 8' wide inside, you'd have a pallet, then hand stack beside it, followed this pattern all the way back, Your absolutely correct some of these old dock were built for 2 axle city trucks and semi's that were only 39 feet long.
I've completed plenty of deliveries with sleepers and 53" trailers, you just have to deal with whats there when you arrive.

 

I do a lot of Tractor Supply in the North and Southwest. The company is dead serious about appointment times. Some fairly easy back ramps. You might have to maneuver through some tight parking lots and unloads are about an hour, hour and a half.
