I thought you were NYC based. Didnt realize yer in brookfield. My inlaws live on tunnel rd in newtown. I was PISSED a few weeks ago when i slept at the hawleyville trading post and woke up to see it boarded up. All the sads.

That's the attitude that gives you a pass on a lot of small stuff in my book.

If it's something that can be fixed without too much trouble, and you're apologetic, offering to fix it yourself or compensate in some way. That's when I'll respect you, shake your hand and let it go.

 

"Im sorry" has gotten me out of most trouble in life. Though i have been stomped a time or two.

 

Yeah it closed almost overnight with no warning or explanation. Too bad for all the lumber haulers that could pull out and grab a coffee from next door.... if they could afford it on those rates lol

 

I know your equipment can turn people's heads more than average. Throw a load like that on the deck and I bet people really take notice.


We were talking the other day about a project they have with some indoor climbing wall and trampoline park in Manhattan and I reminded him of the woes they have experienced in the past with LTL carriers. I told him he might as well plan on paying full truckload pricing for anything he sends. Southern Utah to NYC isn't going to be cheap.

 

I wonder if there’s a locally based carrier who could make some money with a direct contact at the foam factory hmmm Manhattan customers really can’t/don’t balk at the pricing..

Hey you didnt haul my crawler loader from laquila construction to springfield mass back in like 2013 or so did you? Brokered thru JRC and hauled on a really nice step.

 

There is a virtual wall around NYC trucking. City drivers are scared to leave and OTR drivers are afraid to enter. And everyone is scared of connecticut! Utah to NYC would be cheaper to drop at a outer edge rigger for a terminal then have a city hotshot forward the last leg.

 

I think he got one load moved at $5500. I told him I'd be double that much and the reason why is I don't have a big desire to go to anyplace that crowded.

I sure wouldn't let it go, but I'm anal about my equipment. I had to pay for it one mile at a time, and it wasn't always easy. But that's just me.
