This has become an epidemic since companies started having rookies "train" rookies...

What payday loans are to finances, coffee and cigarettes are to alertness.

As long as it's not a full bodied cigar; I bought a Padron 1964 (or something like that) for when I graduated from trucking school and luckily I smoked it prematurely because I puked my freaking guts up lmao I'll stick with my pipe tobacco if and when I decide to smoke again.

When's a good time to start to shut it down and try to find a place to park? I'll have one of those Elogs and I'd hate to have 10 minutes left on the clock with no parking space in sight. You know, so I can avoid Charles Darwin and getting eaten by my manager.

Until you get a feel for which Truck Stops fill up early and which ones have parking late at night, it would be advise able to start looking for parking when you are down to 1 to 2 hours left on your clock. After you learn the patterns of various stops you can push that some... But its always best to have AT LEAST one fall back option.

I regularly push my clock down to less than 10 mins... But I know where and when I can do that... Other times I'm parked with an hour still left on the clock. It all depends where im at and when I'm there.

Depends on where you stop. Apparently there are quite a few guys who think trip planning is finding the nearest Loves at sundown with 15 minutes left on the clock. They will kill each other to get a spot at a big chain, and grab a fatboy spot so they can brag to all of their fatboy friends on FatBook....and there can be a nice clean Mom and Pop style next door that will have parking available til 11pm.

How can you tell if the mom and pop is decent? Read the reviews. If it’s one of those places where the locals jam all the truck parking with personal vehicles, odds are pretty good the place is a POS.

The big metro area will have huge modern industrial areas as well as old, run down places surrounded by housing projects. The big modern ones will have big wide streets and plenty asphalt, and you can always get a spot. The old places will look like Beruit after the uprising.

I'm pretty sure the only reason I read anything on here is to see what @TripleSix has to say lol. That man manages to spit out solid knowledge and pure comedy gold at the same time all the time.

Everyone has something they can add to the pot.

@farmerjohn64, if you haven’t already, download an app like Trucker’sPath. Your destination is 1748 Northside Industrial BLVD, Columbus Georgia. Hours are M-F, 9-5. Your ETA is 6pm from Charlotte NC and you have plenty of time on the clock. Where would you stop and why?
