    Good for you! Feels really good doesn't it? Truck stop food is a giant carb fest. I've gotten good at shopping once a week, usually at Wal-Mart, and finding low or no carb selections. Last night I had salad made with lettuce shrimp black olives and Newman's own olive oil and vinegar dressing. Oh the sacrifice!

    How are you managing keeping the weight off? I hope you feel terrific.

    Latest adventure. The egr system decided to do something new. Wish I could tear that crap out with my bare hands. I was on 44 halfway to Freer Texas when I got message said "low quality def derate in 60. Parked regen required" By the time I got to 59 junction it said 36 mins to derate.

    I pulled onto gravel lot there and attempted to regen and it said "derate conditions not met" even though soot level was above 3/4. Picture my hat twirling around on my head! It is darker than a well digger's pocket out there at night and nothing ahead. 70 miles back to bolt yard in Laredo with 36 mins left on derate.

    Okay. Fine.
    I called appropriate people at Bolt and took off back to Laredo and drove that truck like I stole it. Halfway there warning lights went off and when I got to yard soot level down to 1/8. Now I have to kill myself to make otd in Toledo and I look like a nit wit to dispatch.

    The little truck that cried wolf.

    Evidently some truckstops have bad dpf too weak so some carriers getting bulk barrels to use & drivers carrying several jugs. Water to urea % way off.

    That happened to me with a Paccar product. Kept happening, kept ignoring after it kept recovering, "never mind". It waited to actually derate until I was 30-odd miles from pavement on a two-track in a canyon with an ISO, getting dark and no cell signal.

    Took them hours to find me without me being able to help. First they had to figure out that I hadn't come back, then they had to start looking.

    You did the right thing. There is no treachery like a rogue EGR.

    I go home every day
    I was jogging 2 miles as soon as I got out of the truck but I got behind on the repairs and a bunion
    I also was jogging on the treadmill at any time fitness when the weather was bad
    I have a nordic track recumbent bike in front of my TV and when I don't have to work I ride it and lift a 25 pound weight every possible way
    I take good cheese and roast beef and canned goods to work along with 6 aquafina waters I refill and put in the freezer overnight

    Ive had way less issues since I started putting in about 3 gallons of def each fillup and I never fill up the def tank, the 3 gallons gets to me about half a tank
