Anytime I had picked up eggs it was in a pre cooled reefer that had a wash receipt. And they still sprayed the outside of the truck and trailer on my way in.
I’ve never seen eggs loaded any other way

Is that a hotshot they are loading on? What a mess.
It never gets tranported in anything other than a reefer. No wonder those racks gotaway.
Ive hauled eggs on a regular route from Nearby Farms in Carroll County Md near the Mason Dixon line to Grand Union Albany NY until the one day I got injured inside their warehouse when a staffer failed to maintain a degree of clean floor to work on. They unloaded the eggs while the Troy ER patched me up and made sure that the knee is not smashed. They also took care of the hospital billing as well as some lost wages. Nothing but good things for them. But the one person who failed to keep a clean floor would have been dealt with and hopefully thats the end of that. However last night the knee was acting up under the old impact injury site from that particular smash there. something to keep a eye on so many years later.
The one thing with reefer in eggs I think they were 30 dozen to the case in those days. Crack open a door a certain position away from the fall of the big egg case. Open the door slowly and maybe redirect or get some of the eggs to the cart. Otherwise it will try to kill you by hitting your head if you opened fast and normally. Its always something.
Cleaning to food grade prior to loading at a blue beacon took a while and a certain amount of funds. As far as I know no apparent losses inside the trailer which would have been surprising considering it was not airride in those days. All of it was old iron spring suspension all around.TruckGal13 and mjd4277 Thank this. -
