the other night i was parked at the flying j in fargo ND. after coming back outside from eating supper and getting a shower (and after all the other parking spots were full), i noticed the truck who had parked next to me was idling and his air dryer was going off every 20 seconds. all night long. PSSSSST!! chug chug chug chug chug chug chug PSSSST!! all fricken night! it was in the 60's. you didn't even need to idle, dude. has anybody in a similar situation ever deliberated over opening somebodys battery box when they were asleep and unhooking their battery terminal so their engine would shut off?

Move to another space or get earplugs.
Messing with another driver's truck could get you in a lot of financial and possibly physical trouble.
Unhooking the battery of ANY computer controlled vehicle can cause a lot of damage.beastr123, Flat Earth Trucker, Bud A. and 17 others Thank this. -
What would you do if you caught someone messing with your truck?

How would disconnecting the battery shut off the truck? Plus, BFD. If you don't like noise, at night you are in the wrong industry. Let me guess, you're the ahole that turns off someones reefer because you can't handle the noise?
Well, a truckstop is a loud place, always has been, and always will be. If it keeps you up get some noise canceling headphones.Last edited: Sep 26, 2019

OP didn't say he/she DID or even WOULD mess with someone's truck.
And yes @Platinum Blonde Skinhead , the thought has crossed my mind. I wouldn't do it though.
Not only for the constant pressure reliefs. But also the loud reefer unit. The engine fan kicking on every 30 seconds. And on and on.
And let's not forget the super trucker rolling through at 2am with straight stacks and his engine brake on high. A holes need 20 pounds of sand dumped in each tank.thelushlarry, FlaSwampRat, TruckGal13 and 4 others Thank this. -
Messing with another drivers livelihood could end up getting you killed..I wouldn’t recommend messing with their truck.
It really blows and we’ve probably all had to endure what you did.. Nothing you can do but move or if possible pull out and nose into your spot..
Try getting the evil thoughts out of your head and replace them with ones that will help you relax and sleep better.
Remember, there could always be another reason that driver is idling their truck.. I’ve personally had issues twice now with my truck and had to idle nonstop for days until I could get to a shop to repair it.. Wire on starter went bad under load and had to get a pull start from a wrecker ( another reason I will never buy a truck with an automatic )
For now just take a chill pill, get some earplugs..tinytim, MACK E-6, homeskillet and 8 others Thank this.
