So we hit a board in Memphis and got a puncture hole in the main fuel tank. Is there anyway to close that tank off and just use the secondary tank?

We got the family and are just trying to get home. What can we do to temporarily fix this problem?? Please any help is much appreciated!!

When I removed my secondary tank, I threaded a bolt into the end of the lines and hose clamped it. You'll have to manually keep track of your fuel levels, though, since it usually is determined by the sensor in the primary tank. I think there were 2 lines, a return and supply. The vent hose on top is for air only, so you shouldn't have to detach it.

    How big is the hole?
    Can it be temporarily plugged?
A picture might help to see what you got.

What are you driving? How do the lines hook up to each tank?

IDK how to add a picture at the moment. I still got fuel spilling everywhere.

It's a hike in the bottom of the main tank. Keeping track of fuel level is no problem. How can we cut off the main tank or is that even possible?

Sometimes a dime or a nickle will fit in between the end of the hose and the tank fitting. Tighten the fitting up good to plug it off. Both hoses have to be done.

Some trucks have valves on the tanks to prevent fuel pump from pumping from the tank with the closed valve... However it will still return to both... So it would still leak...

Got a big wad of Bubblicious Bubble Gum???? Lol

Yes thus would work good... Like you say, both supply and return lines could be plugged this way.

Some IHC's use an electric pump to transfer fuel. What is a main tank?
