I'd be curious to see how the current generation of engines stacks up against the old C15/3406E, N14 and Series 60. I'm talking engine vs engine at the core, no added emission junk.

Engine v engine I'm guessing today's engines are better

Every time I walk into the KW dealer I notice the shop is packed with “new” trucks. Granted a lot of improvements have been made in engines..... older engines are less likely to catch a cold or have allergy problems and head to the barn! Just my observation of course, and I ain’t nobody......

In some ways I would agree but I don't think they will have the longevity of the prior generation. I could very well be wrong about that. But it's really amazing how much work you can get out of the prior generation and how many rebuilds they can take and keep chugging away. The new ones might prove as durable but the bodies are shot now. Just can't " restore " plastic.

I tend to agree. The mechanicals of the modern engine seem pretty solid, its the extra junk and extended service intervals that causes the failures.

You is somebody. You passed Doc's sniffer test. You're either a gummy bear or you smell like money.
