I'm going to hold out for the 7.3 gasser in an extended cab long bed f250 and try to pick up a 5-7 year old one after they've worked the kinks out.
Been there and done the new pick up. Never again. Someone else can take the loss on the new purchase. -
Question for you guys. Have an 08 Silverado. Had a light passenger side low beam out. Changed it and it still is acting funny. Anyone ever change out the plug on one of those?
-
Welp, narrowed it down to #2 injector. Failed every test. Ain't going into it till Sunday when she's cooled down. Hopefully it will just be a quick swap !

I looked at used ones before I bought my 2017. Even with 40-50k km on the clock of a 2 year old truck the dealers still wanted $10k less than new.
Anybody else wonder what vehicle designers are smoking these days? I swear the only nice 1/2 ton this current generation is the Tundra. In the HD models I like the Super Duty best. Although the 2020 Sierra HD is kind of growing on me a bit. -
Yep. The different types of variable valve timing ( lots of manufacturer's have their own versions.) optimize that and give the engine more power ( when desired ) or better fuel economy ( when the extra power isn't needed ). The engine ecm also makes constant adjustments to the timing and amount of fuel sent in via the direct injectors ( and the port injectors too) as well as adjustments to the timing of the spark in gas engines.
That would be hard to replicate with a purely mechanical engine. -
Picked up my 12 with 112k on the clock for 16
I do like the new Sierra HD. I like all 3, Sierra f250 and the ram. I'm just more mopar than anything plus that new ram interior is top notch sexy -
Never had the misfortune. My 2011 Sierra seemed to burn out a low beam every 4 months though. I got it down to a 5 minute job to replace them using a pair of long needlenose pliers. Ain't nobody got time to remove the grill (and break every one of those stupid clips off in the process).
