Are you commercial or private?

 

The only reason I know of to take off the box would be if you are over 65 ft. combined or want to gain a little more loaded pin weight. Otherwise you are good.
Nice setup. My old and new trailer were also a Texas Pride. Was there last Monday picking up my new trailer also.
Are you running with a class A or is that derated? What does that trailer weigh? What length is it? 12k axles? What ply tires did you get?
Guessing those are self adjusting brakes like mine. Had to start off with 6 on my trailer brake gain to have them work somewhat and after 1500 miles I can lock them up on 2 empty and 4 loaded. Lucky the dot inspector didn't ask me to lock them up for him and he just pulled the emergency brake pin and said "as long as I can hear the brakes engage you are fine". If he needed me to lock the brakes and drag the trailer I would have failed the inspection.

Don't forget to get the annual dot inspection. The annual is $100 a piece for truck and trailer.

 

With a bed on truck most states see you as a truck. With bed off you are a tractor.
If your bed is not 8ft that is another big issue. I sure do see a lot of hot shots getting shoulder inspections lately. And they all have beds on them. While pulling cars, or flat beds.
