Think how much room they would have to have to store peoples belongings. You know how much money they would spend shipping stuff.

    New people:
Company drivers, newly interested, lurkers and rookies, this entire thread is educational. This is why you

-TRAVEL LIGHT as a company driver.
-DO NOT leave anything valuable in a company truck when your truck goes into a company shop.
    -Keep $1000 for emergencies.
-Ask for advice before you act.
-Do not drink the company koolaid and get caught up in all the company propaganda.
-Do not do anything questionable or illegal for a trucking company.

Edit: You guys living in a company truck, if you have your truck loaded down with gear and you get canned or need to quit and cannot get your gear from company to company, put your gear in storage for a month. Should cost you about $100. Then go through orientation, start your new job and have them route you back to your storage and load up your truck.

What six said. I had a small factory when life got turned upside down. 7 years of creative storage, but i still own it all, and have half of it moved across the country to the new site on a "will we be having dinner tonight?" budget. Storage buys you time and security to get things figured out when everything is uncertain. In the middle of a tornado, stable things are really important. You can plan around that one chunk of stability.

Excellent point. My 1st company job I had the truck setup like home. 1st time I got upgraded to a new truck it took hours swapping all the crap to the new one. Lesson learned next time home I took 80% of it out. Not only had more room but I was ready to get out in less than an hour.

    Isn't 120 proof usually only 60%, though?

    E: >only 60%
    >ONLY
That was bad wording on my part, considering my liquor of choice is 70 proof

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

The 95% is for the content of rye whiskey... Not alcohol... The proof was on the BOL.

Just learned this lesson over the weekend!! Was OTR for 13 months. Took a bit over 3 hours for me and that was after investing in new clear bins. Bringing everything off in an orderly fashion was important to me...

New job is out 5 days and home on the weekends.

The coffee pot is coming with for sure, however, I no longer require a back-up mascara for my back-up mascara lol.

To OP (in response to your quote referencing third party recruiters)

Also I’m curious, what firsthand knowledge do you have of Heartland or are you only reciting the rhetoric that you’ve read here?

Well seriously, one of those 3rd party recruiters might be able to help you.

IMHO Seems like you have a non productive reply to everyone’s encouragement out here.

Suck it up Buttercup and move forward!
