Looking to buy another volvo truck. I have one now with a 10speed manual really like the truck. I was just wondering about the ishift. I want to hear the good and the bad about them looking to get a truck with low 400,000miles to maybe l500,000miles would there still be alot of life left in one with that or what kind of problems might be around that mileage? Any info is appreciated

I got mine at 390k and so far had to put on new def doser, nox outlet sensor, boot on the cac, all new radiator hoses and a new radiator, oh and replaced my crankcase filter last week it started leaking oil at bottom, and not gonna lie my a/c not workin now, the shop by my house says i prob need an a/c receiver drier and a new expansion valve, both parts look pretty cheap i just dont feel like taking time off to get it fixed right now, im flatbed so monday thru fri im on the roll and anyways my apu workin like a champ when im parked so dont mind rollin with windows down for a breeze... i just hit 605k mi today

Oh and it's an i shift, i cant see myself ever going back to manual. Volvo warranties their tranny to 750k or 5 years, but at 500k they do tell ya to get new trans filter and change out trans fluid, dealer hit me up like $600 something for that

iShift is pretty bulletproof. The only thing you'll ever find talked about are air leaks. I've never had one personally. Once you go iShift you'll never go back.
ThatVolvoMackGuy Thanks this. -
I haul hay on super B with 500hp I-shift. I would like more power but the transmission is awesome. I will never go back to manual. I also own a 560hp DD15 18sp western star and the Volvo is much nicer to drive.
Total loaded GVW approx 115,000lb. -
They are rated to 100 metric tones (220,000 lbs). I've pulled 120,000lbs without any problems. There are hundreds of guys pulling 140,000 lb super-b's with them around here.
