Trans needs to come out and don’t just do ribbon harness do cylinder housing much better and only about 300 to 400 more. Whole job with trans in and out calibration and all when I do usually runs around 2900 maybe a bit less with new cylinder housing very likely might be the problem 20 k is highway robbery for that trans u could get it done for half that.

When they told me 7-8,000 just to pull it out and inspect I thought that was pretty ridiculous. In other words they are talking about 60 hours labor just to R&R trans and inspect. I would think they could have the trans out in 10 hours or so. (1300 dollars labor)
If you have a shop maybe you can pm me and give me more info on where you are at and if you could do this job for me?
Thanks again for the reply -

Listen to Nasriza. If you can get truck to him in Chicago area he will take care of it.
southbaydad Thanks this. -
Waiting for his reply to me.
AZ to Chicago is a long run unless the truck don’t act up and stays happy then I am ok with it.
Don’t have a problem going there but truck doesn’t give me to much piece of mind right now -
That is a long ways, and i dont know if i would sugest it if the truck is acting up, i dont think it should be a big issue is this truck going 2 gears at a time like from 2 to 4 than 6 when it acts up or doing something else if it is a splitter fault most of the time its the top cover that is acting up and the piston hold down got loose i actually have one on the floor that was doing the exact same thing i will post some pics later so you can see what's going on with it.

It doesn’t miss any shifts going up or down.
It just losses power at the pedal for 10 or 15 seconds. Then may be fine for 2 miles or 1000 miles. Might happen once a day or 10 times a day
But I appreciate your input and knowledge and the time you are putting in to try and help me out -
Hi nasriza,I have same problem, with Volvo Vnl730 D13 I-shift, it started after I changed the oil,and leveling valve. Before it was fine no problem, Issue happens after driving about 60 miles speed goes down and gas pedal doesn’t respond no rpm, I have to pump the gas pedal and it’s slowly shaking and keep driving , then after few miles it repeats again, no engine light or fault codes, sometimes check transmission message pops out, I went to Volvo they said inactive bunch of faults related to transmission, already changed the boost sensor and fuel filters, turbo works fine, What do you think about?
-
i would have to see the fault codes to be able to tell you where to look at might be something going on with clutch, CCA, possible something else without seeing the codes hard for me to be able to point you in the right direction.
southbaydad Thanks this. -
There is no fault codes or check engine light in dashboard, only inactive faults when you hook the computer in it. Do you think they cause the problem even they are inactive?
