I asked Texas pride where I can get my annual DOT and they sent me to Tire Werks right next to them. I went there, paid $40 and got a DOT inspection all they checked was the lights. I asked them why I didn't get a sticker put on the trailer and they said Texas doesn't put stickers and I am good to work across borders like that with just a paper receipt.

They were wrong. A commercial vehicle that crosses state lines needs an annual dot inspection and they are supposed to put the inspection sticker on the trailer and truck. Sticker has the information of the company, vin, date of inspection ect. I had it done in Florida on my old trailer and eventually found a place not far from texas pride that gave me the annual inspection with the sticker and checked everything he was supposed to..

We just called the Love's in Willis again just to make sure the inspection was a federal DOT inspection for an F-350 and 40' trailer and if they put stickers on both the truck and the trailer. The guy said yes the trailer would have a sticker and so would the truck. The price for the trailer was $44.95 plus tax and the truck would be around $50 plus tax. We'll make sure they check everything when we have it done and I'll let you know how it went!

Nice! I might take a trip to Texas Pride today. Still looking for a trailer.
    If I get a 40’, I’ll be a total of 65’6” & I don’t think it’s worth the risk.

Did you go to Texas Pride today?
They say its bumper to bumper but we're going to take it to the weigh station on 45 and have them measure it so I know for sure! I want to know what part of the bumper they're measuring from. The truck is 22' there's 3' between the back of the truck and the front of the trailer which is 40'.... That's 65'.

I didn’t end up going. Do you know how long their trailer is from front to back?
I know PJ says theirs are 49’ and my truck is 16’6” from nose to gooseneck.

You'll be about a foot over 65'. Ford has the longest wheelbase pickup at 176". Add your 576" trailer & about 40" of front bumper overhang past the front axle. I get 792", or 66'..

Trust nothing a salesman ever says. Go by your own tape. Don't ask a scale house to measure you, unless you want a ticket. Do it yourself. Good luck out there..
