They still haul a lot of salt out of here. They still have 3 salt mines here. Now they have a underground museum where you go down into a salt mine for a tour.
-
Is it paying anything to haul?

Also you said you have a T600. What year and specs on it? The one I am looking at is a 01' N14 500 w/13spd and 370's for $20,000. It has 750,000 miles. He said he got around 7mpg and up to 8mpg running empty.

1999-C-12,430..Ten speed... 370's. Just had used engine put in with 429,000 miles verfied by ECM. It gets 6 to 6.5 mpg. Don't know how far Cummins will go before inframe but 750,000 is getting up there. Being taken care of should last a while.
I far as salt pays can't remember prices they quoted me. Never hauled any yet. When busy you can wait up to 24 hours at salt mine in Lyons. Seems like close to grain rates but can't really remember.Big John Thanks this. -

Does he haul out of Lyons a lot? I'm just surprised you knew about Lyons salt plant.

He provides us the trailer and the loads, thats it.
We are pretty happy with the arrangement, for now. Of course we would like to have our own accounts (who wouldn't?) but its been a year, and he's been pretty good to my husband. Doesn't scream and yell when hubby needs to be home, needs repairs, etc.
When hubby was hauling cattle, and needed the inframe, our broker was screaming at him on the phone. That for me was the last straw. You don't kick a man when he's down, and believe me, knowing that you will be shelling out everything that you have saved and worked hard for, is down. Hubby had to leave, when I wrote the check, he was green.
This guy respects holiday home time, birthdays and emergencies. He's really easy to work with.
We just passed our one year anniversary with him, and so far, we really don't have a reason to look elsewhere.
You need to be relaxed out there, and comfortable with the people you are doing business with. It makes being an O/O much easier.Tommo2, PharmPhail, Big John and 1 other person Thank this.
