The Freightliner D12 has downhill mode. I think it's a nice option. They call is Descent Mode. You tell the computers how fast downhill you want to go. It holds that speed. It over rides cruise control setting in of 5mph over set speed. You set it for the speed you want and let the computers and transmission do all the work. It work for for 30mph and up

Like swamprat said. Takes 5 minutes to get to 60. Never knows what gear to be in and will start and 1 and shift all the way to 8 before you leave the parking lot.D.Tibbitt and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -

Yes the automated trans has a clutch... But the older ones (10 uears ago or more) still had a clutch pedal... The new ones do not.Moosetek13, x1Heavy and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
