Not watching the gauges, would be called operator error. lol
Or you can have the computer set up to shut it down when it gets hot, my international will not run past a certain temp, or if low on water a certain amount, same with oil pressure and lever..
It rings bells and a light comes on and it just gives you a certain amount of time to get her off the road.

I can climb forever and never overheat.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

Most trucks can, depends on the driver when it comes to high horse power, if the cooling system is up to par.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
That's my point. If they just raise the tune without upgrading the cooling system then it'll want to overheat when using what you boughtAnother Canadian driver Thanks this.

Maybe if a guy gets wild with it, but most trucks that have say a 475, that is uporatable to 550 or what ever, alreatd has enough cooling capacity.
When i looked at my international it was set at 430, but could be bumped to 470, so we did, it already had more than enough cooling to handle that and probably even more, if a guy did some custom tuning.
Guys up here are pretty bad about turning cats up to the point they are twisting the blocks enough to crack oil pans, with no over heating issues.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Not a problem when it's -20.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.
