I've purchased a 7' Skipshooter, Firestik FireRing CB Coax with FME, and a ProComm mount for my 2020 Cascadia. Waiting for all of it to be shipped.
Looking at braided ground strap options on Amazon, I realized I didn't know what length or width I would need, nor the size of the hole. Any advice on this?
Thanks!

The wider the strap the better. I'd go an inch if I could. I will defer to those who have done this on the truck in question because I haven't.
-
Ok, so 1 inch thick, but how long on a 2020 Cascadia?
-
1/2 to 3/4 is good, one inch is alright too. The purpose for a braid is not to have it become part of a radiator.
-
General rule of thumb seems to be 1 foot long or shorter. -
So, I'm thinking I should get them as short as I can so that there isn't a bunch of loose strap flopping around in the wind. Just long enough to reach between the two connecting points with the door all the way open.
Now, what size hole? There seems to be multiple options there. -
How about these?
-
They look good to me if 12 inches will reach what's needed.
-
The length doesn't really matter, as long as it is mechanically usable and won't stretch or break.
Get the holes do they fit the largest bolt that it will go on, more likely a quarter inch. -
Buy a roll of either 3/4" or 1"...Make your own....Actually searching out in my area for some..Not much luck except for one place..
50ft of tinned copper 3/4" wide for $150(plus tax ofcoarse)here in eastern canada....Seems a bit steep so i checked ebay and from the usa it might be about same $ or $20 at most cheaper(when you add tax n shipping, duty) for the 1" ..Approx del date is the 20th-26th....lol..Thinkin ill be maken a trip to town sat for 50' of 3/4"
Now like him or not bbi from youtube did a few grounding vids..2 on his suv and i found one on a volvo 18,seems to be a part 2 but not found it..
I seem to learn more when i see it done vs someone just tellin me to "ground to the chassie" "eye roll"...
Here is an excert from our brief chat re grounding..Attached Files:
