When they say “shipping starts at 7 am”. It actually means the crew punches in sometime after 7 am. Then they will check over there equipment and grab a coffee and doughnut. Then maybe they will head out here to the yard after 8 or so if the weather is ok?

I also find it funny how they talk about how efficient rail freight is but I find myself at rail yards loading rail Quite often. Place up the street ships train wheels. Always a line up the street of trucks. Don’t ever see them shipping by rail?
