Sorry ladies for my absence but i am back been busy getting things straight at the house but im gonna try to rap it up in a nut shell day 5 was spent learning about roll over prevention perdium and met some big wigs for that terminal.I was given my chemical suits gloves goggles and get this a free pair of boots all drivers are given about 2 ah year. 6.7.8 They demonstrated how to air unload then I did it with all the help and instructions I needed then the second time with less and the third time by myself and I was graded. The same thing was done with the pump. The 9 and 10 day I went out with a local driver To get a real feel of what I would be facing I am A virgin Tanker Yanker so that surge effect took a couple stop lights and miles to get used to. But I got the understanding of my job requirements The only negative I see so far is the hazmat loads adds ah little more miles to your trip and a little more gear to wear. Day 11 we tested out with an air unload pump unload road test pre trip test brake test backing test .But you know Ya boy B got everything done. Day 12 we had a trip planing class we get no routs over here you get directions from the last highway so we went over that and how to do the paper work and logs correctly and that was that. ............Thursday they gave me a rental car told me go home relax for the weekend and report on monday to pick up my truck and meet my d.m IT IS ABOUT TO GO DOWN 10-4

hello, considering making the jump to tanker, talked to a recuriter got excepted. but dont really belive much of what they say. so this is going out to current tanker drivers for schenider or if anyone has input on a better outfit to look at. What are the actual weekly miles looking like? how are there benfits? good health insureance and 401k are very important to me.
thanks in advance,

truckerjad i'm not sure what part of the buckeye you live in but, if you live anywhere near Dayton or Cincy you should seriously look at a co. called Carry Transit. I came really close to going to work for them. If you search my previous posts on here or search Carry Transit on here you will get all the info. you need. I will be honest with you and say the most attractive thing about them was the cost of family health ins. was only like $35.00 a week. The pay was pretty darn good as well but I have a wife and two children so the first thing I ask about is the ins. Hope that helps and let us all know how it turns out for you.

Carry is the food grade side of Superior Carriers. Insurance went up to $55 a month for the family in March but you are right about it being a great value. My wife works for Blue Cross Blue Shield and it is still cheaper for us to do the Family plan with Superior/Carry than it was through them. Coverage is the same. I think it's subsidized.
