Thanks partner. Was he of the same Bailey family that made the planes?
I don’t fully understand how the Stanley-Bailey thing went down, but even this one says Stanley on the blade.
Pay no attention to the heeler in the background. She’s wanting a walk/run, but this guy has to go out on a job later, so sleep is gonna need to occur sometime between now and then. -
Yes mine says Stanley on the blade too, but it’s a Bailey plane, I think they are referred to as a Bailey / Stanley plane. Bailey designed the plane, and Stanley manufactured them with the agreement to keep the name “Bailey” on them, this was turn of the century. Thinking there was a legal dispute between them at one time, which Stanley won if memory serves? Mine is a Bailey No.5 with a Stanley blade. -
Uh.... NO!

I have a few things that belonged to my great grandfather Bailey, including his bead breaker for his 1932 Ford A truck. I have fond memories of him cranking the engine by hand to give me a ride. Sadly we lost him after he fell and broke his hip, died in the hospital, 30 minutes after his room mate died, kinfolk always thought the nurse mixed their meds up....?
He was born in 1886. -
I’ll just leave this here....
