Point is that the precious truck weight limits were violated and nobody noticed. Sorry for the confusion. Was poking fun at overbearing weight restriction laws.

I have left trailers that are deemed impossible for them to deal with come the morning. They can lock the place all they want. The problem is waiting there in Dock 1.

no one had ever moved the fifth wheel on this truck, nor did it ever get lubed before being sent out, so when I tried to flick the switch, the actuator would move but the pins were not moving an inch.
eventually we took a ball pin hammer and got it knocked loose, then we had to shove a bunch of grease under the fifth wheel and bang it forwards and backwards to get it to move.
ya we grabbed the load, their scale “didn’t work” and by the time we got to. CAT they were closed. The lady running the scale, after 6 reweighs asked if we can from the place, and then told us it happens all the time there.G13Tomcat, x1Heavy and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
If a shipper overloaded me by 5,000 pounds on the drives I would be on the horn with the broker to tell him that a weekend of layover will cost him a small fortune if he doesn't get somebody out here to adjust my load. That's just stupid overloading by that much.

I may be old, but I'm slow!Woodys, G13Tomcat, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this.

Slow is not bad, but according to the Moderators it';s worse on my end sleeping on the switch.
I think Dinah is having a better day than we are ha...

Remember this lesson. Always know what you're loading and weight of it. Know the empty weights of your truck/trailer so you can get a rough idea of how loads and placement will affect those weights.
5 hours of screwing around because someone else doesn't care enough to do their job right. This is the time you learn how to do deal with issues in the future when you might not run for a mega.FlaSwampRat and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
very true. It was a presealed drop and hook, so didn’t know how it was laid out until we got to the scaleFlaSwampRat Thanks this.

Our legal winter weights running north on the drives is 42,000, 8,000 more than most states, and we routinely run it and raise the belly axle to add to it quite a bit too. lol
I had to go to court in Ks for an over load and when I walked in and talked to the court clerk, she stated how dangerous that was. I told her why would it be not dangerous, if I would have paid them 10 bucks for an overload permit. lol
I also told her that the only thing dangerous about this deal, is walking in to this room, and I wasn't wrong either. lol
The 5 hours was because of their equipment, and since they got it legal, what did the shipper do wrong?Snailexpress and x1Heavy Thank this. -
oh no it still wasn’t legal. It was almost legal
