You might have a pretty good bounce for a load back to Canada. Texas is like quicksand, once you get in it, it's tough to get out. I never take a load to Texas unless I'm going home.

They tell me they are looking for something paying good (as always). Lots of cheap #### but nothing good. I can respect that, it's 1500 miles back home and running at a low rate doesn't help anyone (and I can't move something cheap to a better lane because cabotage).

Plus, they are trying to get me back to Winnipeg directly (for the holiday this weekend), not somewhere else in Canada, and I'm running a high-boy rather than a stepdeck, so that likely makes it even more difficult. But they've run me over 600 miles empty before to pick up oversize, so clearly it must be slim pickings.

I'm a patient man, and while they do pay layover, it'll only last so long. I believe in the owner's vision for the future and want to be a part of it, but I won't stick around if I keep sitting like this 1-2 times a week.

But my options in the flat deck world are slim pickings out of Winnipeg at this point. Most are 7-10 days out and won't pay nearly as good (or put me into a new truck as soon) and I highly doubt I'd enjoy the van world.

That's the one positive! No worries about getting back aside from weather.

48 tandem highboy flat. Fixed winches, not enough chains and mismatched steel rims, lol. It's treated me right so far though. Boss is upgrading me to a 53 tandem step before November. Doesn't like having the flats around, but they are rentals.
