Without a dash cam footage in the victims car etc there is really no way to trace a particular company unless one of their trucks should show up again in the future int he victims area.

Morale of the story, buy a dash cam tonight if you have not already.

Totally agree with the dash cam, heck you can get a cheap one for 50 at Wally world. Takes a decent video too, and can download videos to your phone.

What happened here was a LSA or Leaving the Scene of an Accident, not hit and run. The latter refers to leaving the scene where personal injury has occurred, whereas LSA involves only property damage.

Most victim statement are not backed by a lot of evidence. It seems like if you can substantiate you were there and they have a driver that was there around the same time (logs would show that) then maybe you could even substantiate a complaint by evidence of damage on the tractor or trailer. Of course a dash cam is best but without one you might do ok. Depends if it left it's mark.
