On thing I have learned is Roehl will always try to correct a wrong. The answer sometimes may not be to ones liking. In your case they are getting you a rental car. Good luck you seem to have the proper attitude needed for this job.

tjordan ..... what did your orientation letter state about the per diem pay? ...... I still have reservation about being forced to accept per diem (.10 cpm) because I am closing in on retirement and that will affect my social security ......

Those are two good questions grc56. I'm anxious to see the replies for them. I called the recruiter at Roehl today. I filled out the application online this morning but haven't heard anything yet. Still trying to find funding for school. I don't want to go through training to get my CDL at Roehl. Although there website says it's $2,500 for tuition... half the price of Sage truck school(where I'm trying to enroll). But I will as a last resort. Does anybody know of anyone who went through Roehls CDL school??

One of the other threads under Roehl had some conversation from drivers who went thru Roehl's school. I don't know any thing about it.

Thanks, when I get more time I'll try to search it out. How long did it take you to get a response Roehl when you applied? It seems like the hiring process was fairly smooth for you grc56. That's always a good thing.

It was fairly quick and painless. I wanna say I had a pre-hire in 2 or 3 days, then a firm offer with orientation date about a week later. I had 5 pre-hires thru the school I went to and narrowed it down between Crete and Roehl with Roehl (so far) being my final choice. Crete couldn't get me in until end of Aug or beginning of Sep.

I went thru thier school in Marshfield two years ago. It was a good school and taught me alot. If you go to thier school all you have to drive is 120,000 miles and the debt is forgiven. They even start prorating the debt at 60,000 miles. I have seen people from other schools struggle with what Roehl requires of you during the backing portion on the road test. At the school they teach you very well. Very small class and alot of one on one and road time. If you choose to pay for it heck its only $2800 last time I checked and that is cheap for training.
Yogi4 Thanks this. -
and in 3 weeks you leave with your CDL

How about room and board?? Did they set you up in a hotel?? Their website says you are responsible for that. I just want to get my training done asap so I can get on the road making some money. Since that was two years ago... I'm guessing your pretty happy with them.
