Last year I had the same problem, had a vibration and noticed when fuel tanks were almost mty the shake was a lot worst, end up being an out of round drive tire. I know you mentioned the steers were balanced and STRAIGHT, wondering if that meant checked for being out of round..rule of thumb is if shake is in the steering wheel its more than likely coming from the steers or the front end, if the shake is in your seat and not in the steering wheel then the problem will be some where closer to the rear..MOST of the time shakes are from tires..just my .02 cents.
Truck vibrates/shakes when fuel tanks are low on fuel

Yes i did redneck dyno how i call it. Put drive axles on jack stan . And hammer it. Two tires were out of round so i re install them. Didnt help. I tryes everything else, tire are new i line but i cant do it just yet, there are some threads left on it. I know these tires are old since this truck was pulling race cars for last 18 years before i got it, like 30k per year and drive tires are old. So im thinkin belt is broken so just hard rubber since its below 10/32

What is DOT date on them?

Well new 8 Yokohama 703ZL drive tires halped but there is still vibrations. It must be #### trailer. Trailer is 2016 Wabash dry van and all tires are my old virgin steer tires Bridgestone 283A and there is no weird wear on them. I replaced all 4 shocks last year with original Hendrickson shock. I didn tried my friends Great Dane with same suspension like mine and its smooth ride
Dont know what else -
When you said you used tru~balance. Did you center the wheels and the brake drums? Or just the wheels? Their long pins will center the brake drums with the wheels. Then, did you also do trailer wheels and drums in like manner?
I also use Counteract balancing beads -
On steer im using standard heavy drum so im using 1 piece for centering drum and steer wheels. On drives i have lightweight drums and there is no way to center those because hole is already small and tru ballance owner said same thing so i center drives only. I also have centermatics on steer and drive, had on trailer and took them off since they were old. Tried removing centermatics from truck and didnt help
Im planing using tru ballance on trailer but im about to buy outter aluminum wheels so i have to buy tru ballance for inner steel and outter aluminum -
Yeah, that would be true inner/outer if you buy the ones that stays on the trailer or drives. I found the reusable centering pins more beneficial. Now on the steering axle the one that stays on the truck is better bc it goes on before the brake drum and stays on the truck, make sure you get the right size.

Also make sure your centramatics are installed properly on the correct holes, I had a few tire shops install mine incorrectly way back before the mainstream Truckstops started carrying them. I eventually switched to Balance Masters and ran them for a good number of years bc they wouldn't freeze. Finally I have been using the Counteract balancing beads for the last several years. Don't expect Love's to know how to install them even though they sell them, a few times at a few different shops they didn't even know that they sold them
then I had to show them, and explain to them how to install them! You have to watch them like a hawk I swear!!
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Also if you don't have the stud brush that Tru-balance sells, buy it, it's worth the money!
Some things you just have to do yourself bc no one is concerned about your bottom line more than you are.Rideandrepair Thanks this.
