We hire all 48. Most of our runs are from the Midwest to Southeast or to Northeast, and points in between. As far as chaining up, its not required, however, we do not go out west that often. You will not do well here if you want to stay in the Southern half of the US all winter

@bigkev1115 covered it. We do hire out of all lower 48. With our terminal here out of Anniston we do a lot of GA runs but many go back up north.

From personal experience, I did not have to chain up at all last winter. Even through Donners Pass, but I was lucky and they lifted the chain restriction by about 15 minutes. To get the western runs, you pretty much have to be in the right place at the right time for a brokered load if nothing else is available.

My suggestion is to call and see if they have a regional type of position running just SE and the occasional north during winter. With all of the freight coming out of TN/GA I'm not sure if we have enough local drivers to cover it, though I know a couple of local drivers that probably wish they would put someone in a regional position like that lol.

I would be happy to talk with Don on Monday too, just to get info. But really, bet bet is to call and ask, but as an OTR driver youd be hard pressed to not get northern winter runs. Only time I made the top mileage was during winter, because I'll drive in anything within reason.

I m sitting here in Jamestown waiting to unload and go across the state to Endicott for my Hazmat load. Last week was a much better week after only a 863 mile week, and missing payroll cutoff. I wished S and S would do payroll from 1201am Saturdays to 1159pm Fridays so you can get a load on next weeks check.

So far last week these were my runs

    1. Jamestown, NY to St Cloud MN- 970. this load missed payroll cut off
    2. St Cloud MN to Grand Forks, ND (truck and trailer swap) 252
    3. Grand Forks, ND to West Fargo ND 82
    4. West Fargo, ND-Anniston. AL (truck swap)-Pompano Beach, FL 2102

Started out this week with Pompano Beach, FL to Jamestown, NY 1310. As I was killing time yesterday at Harborcreek, PA before I headed to Jamestown, I got a call from our inbound planner, planning me on Mondays run. So far its a 215 mile deadhead with a stop that s 467 miles away. But as most S&S drivers know, that can easily become a multi pick load especially in NY and other stops in OH,MI,IN or WI. I don t mind at least its an easy $20 to back in a dock and pick up 1 or 2 pallets.

Hopefully, I can get back in my Cascadia that s been sitting almost a month because of truck computer issues and Peoplenet, and in between me driving loaner trucks, being a truck transporter, and home time.

You should be the official truck transporter. You're good at it lol! I'll make that recommendation to S&S!

You should be thanking me. I just boosted your immune system by 10,000 points.

Also, you haven't lived until you get Lyme Disease from tick bites, and anemia from flea bites. Just put a little Frontline down the back of your neck if you're that scared of a little sickness. Haha!!

But seriously, I'd say my truck was darn clean compared to the horror stories I've heard. At least you dont have a gym sock with a mysterious glue holding it together, or pee leaking out of water bottles!

And btw, there are no #### bugs in my old truck! After doing autopsies for 5 years, I became a slight germaphobe lol.

Actually, your did a good job on your old truck. As I was about to leave Grand Forks in your new truck, Nate and his helper detailed that one before I left the yard. I thought they did a great job. I already had my stuff on top bunk so therefore that s why it was a little dirty
