By the day every now and then. For an "off-grid" type project. Can't get into detail now.

Now the other thing i was thinking of is to get a 1-ton dually type truck, which.....nevermind that's wanking. (although a 1-ton should be able to tow an empty 53?)

Or, to get a medium duty "topkick" type truck w/ 5th wheel but that might be too complicated/expensive vs. just hiring someone.

im not understanding why most people dont understand the logic with cdl rental trucks and then complain about the charges. Yeah of course its easy to ret if you are a LARGE fleet owner with big coverage. But if you are some little guy with a fleet of a few trucks or even just ONE truck, why should they rent to you? There is alot involved, especially if their truck is named in a lawsuit with a fatality. Thats why mr cdl wannnabe who thinks he can rent a cdl penske truck to take a cdl test in will be denied. Yu need proper insurancethat covers these trucks and enske probabyl wont have coverage that allows just anyone

Unless you already have commercial insurance it’s prolly gonna be tough. I tried to rent one a few years ago and that was pretty much the story I got from all the major places.

it could be different now, like I said, this was probably close to a decade ago. Also, your area might be different.

The idea of hiring a service might be your best bet. I’d look into that. Good luck, I’m interested in what you figure out.
