Is Swift's flatbed division being transferred to Knight?

I can't answer your question but there are Swift flatbed drivers who post here who will help you.

Bear in mind that Knight owns Swift and the actual name of the company is Knight - Swift Transportation Company.

I am a Swift flatbed driver and I personally haven't heard any mention of this. One thing I do know is that Knight doesn't have a typical flatbed division. They have a dedicated customer called Hydro I think, which was formerly SAPA (I may have that a little off as far as naming), and this division hauls aluminum extrusions on flatbeds, and they run back hauls to get back to the Hydro plants. But they don't run general flatbed freight, and it is a much much smaller operation than the Swift flatbed division.

So it doesn't really make a whole lot of sense that they would transfer the flatbed division to the Knight operations.

Also it is correct that "Knight" and "Swift" run separate operations right now, but Kevin Knight is the CEO of the umbrella company that owns both entities.

I am a Swift Flatbed driver, (have trained, probably will again.) And one of very few OSOW drivers we have. I have had a sit down with everyone in the Phoenix office at one point or another over something. And fairly recently even more so.

There is no intention currently of transferring Swifts flatbed division to Knight. (We do however have use of thier Permits dept for Trip permits. (Something most drivers at swift flatbed will never worry about.)

There was a rumor that Swift Flatbed was getting squeezed out, this was brought to the attention of certain stake holders. And immediatly we bought 75 trailers or so and ordered the new KWs. We aint going away any time soon.

As one of my mangers stated "we started it all, and we are not shutting down anytime soon."

We have been training drivers like mad, so go ahead and throw your hat in the ring, we could always use someone willing to do this job. (Correctly)
