Do you have enough money to purchase a $150k truck? Do you know how much $ it takes per mile to operate a truck, and how much it takes to be profitable?

If a mega carrier can operate a truck with a driver in it for lets say .75cpm, why would they put you in a truck and give you freight that pays enough so that you can make more $ than they do?

They lessen their financial burden by letting you saddle those costs while they take $ off the top.

That terminal is fuel and propane for the most part. Home daily, but doesn’t pay great.

Brake checking in reverse won't fix that?

Maybe hook a chain around the load and latch on to a swift truck. And give a gentle tug without ripping swifts bumper off.

I was going to consider very carefully this new weed aka no U turn policy.

Either the training is totally inadequate, non existence or completely over looks special moves such as U Turns with 18 wheelers which in many rigs are TRULY special and needs to be handled VERY CAREFULLY. *Pounds desk...

I can see some issues come up on a properly abused trailer in a really badly botched U turn however You will find back in the Milk Tanker or Flat Spread axle etc it is VERY routine to simply set the forward axle or the entire tandem of the trailer on a chosen pivot point and simply come round with tractor in a very big circle spinning trailer in place.

A U turn is such a small step away from that. All you have to do at any point in your turning is to go straight 20 feet then go into your turn again all the way over. NExt thing you see is your trailer obediently following you around.

It's a good thing. Be grateful that you could leave 2 lousy companys. Go to Dart , Transport America , J&R Schugel or Heartland IF they allow you to act like they are still Interstate. I never heard a single thing about u turns at Swift ... never really heard anything from Swift ... Never even called me to say hey do you still have that truck ???
