No med card no valid license for CDL, you are downgraded to a Car license or suspended even.
No one remembers their refill date for the new DOT Medical card. -
In Wisconsin you can drive a 40 ton big rig in state with no fedmed card , makes no sense to me.
Driver said he was grandfathered in maybe some feedback on this here. -
I have not heard of this, we have some exemptions for stuff that disqualifies you from a standard medical card, if you will only be running in state, but you still have to get a card.
-
No FEDMED card DMV just downgrades your CDL to Intrastate only , but either it be Green Bay or Green River you still can have a medical episode and kill people.
When I can't pass anymore which I almost didnt due to BP , It will be a blessing in disguise.Last edited: Oct 15, 2019

My license was down graded to non commercial. in other words if It was a cdl required rig, I could not drive it, anywhere, in state or out. I know several that was caught at the scales for the same reason, and they only run in state, but had to get someone else to come get their truck.

My bro in law had a 2 year. Don't know how as he has problems.
Started new company. They made him do it. Only got 90 days. Then he couldn't pass. Lost that job.
Now he's passed and just started with flying J.
Him and I have always taken them in to DLD.
As I posted earlier. Talk was doc was supposed to upload. Haven't seen it happen yet. -
Tier two grandfathered me in Arkansas after 9-11 that year. I held on to that CDL A without a medical card under Tier two swearing out a document. Which says any one of 4 particular types of trucking with that CDL is permitted to me without a medical card.
A example would be farm harvest to coop (Market) and unload there.
One of the other three examples of permitted Tier two activites was to be able to run a Reefer Unit as a morque to haul dead bodies out of a nuclear attack zone A inside the USA's 48 states at any time. (Zone C is no go absolute survivors in that area die in their own time soon or slow. Zone B is rescue operations for 24 hours and then closed pernamently. Zone A after 24 hours becomes a containment patrol line surrounding the attack zones. No one enters, and no one escapes. They would have these reefer trucks stacked with bodies and frozen to be transported to mass burial sites or mass crematories.
I turned in my CDL A sometime after 2014 after some spiritual warfare based on what was allowed of the 4 activites on Tier two for Arkansas and for Uncle Sam post attack. (Including natural disasters like the big quake that turned Memphis and St Louis into multi story burning ruins for weeks.)
Because I have held a CDL A in my lifetime I have very little standing between me and renewal and upgrade to CDLA. However in the medical realm those decisions will be made on finishing of tests first week of Nov. I may be able to or may NOT be able to once the surgeon has had a chance to go over what is possible. We will know answers in about 3 weeks from now for sure. -
I always hand carried mine to the DMV, to much to risk here to depend on another party.
