I too have a Lightning; a 2001 modified by me. Had a RCI 2950DX in it but the CPU board went out and it was expensive to replace so I bought a Stryker 490 for the Lightning. I use a Skythumper mic, an AM-COM digital speaker, and either a Wilson SW 2000 or a Predator 10K antenna.

Interesting to see a Lightning with a radio set up.

Nice radio....have heard those Strykers are known to be some of the clearest sounding radios on AM. And the Skythumper mic is known to be a good mic too.

    Lightninrod Thanks this.

    Sorry for my crummy camera.
148GTL tuned with funnies same as turbo's
    Footwarmer 200
    Low pass filter-not seen
    Dosy meter
    Old school Astatic-not seen M6B
    Br-400 coax
    Antron99 30' not seen
    Cobra talk back speaker
    6 wheeler Motor home
    President Grant in motor home
150w trucker kicker with the Grant
    NGP 2' Firestik
    Same mic. as above
All tuned 25 years ago by Boeing Long Beach Ham Techs with variables for the amps
    They all work like new
Ya may laugh at my Firestik but i get a perfect SWR and talk skip all over the country especially around a large body of water or at high elevations.
I like the look of some of the new radios but mine work to good to change.

Thanks T-T. It had the 2950 in it(but the antenna was in the cab--quick disconnect) when, at the age of 62, we ran a 12.531 1/4 mile.:biggrin_25520:

How do you like the bluetooth radio ? Does it sound all right to the people you are talking to or do they complain about how it sounds ? I thought about getting one but can not make up my mind .
