LANDSTAR has training in Dallas.
It is not hard, learn the rules and common sense(which seems to be a rare thing these days)

 

Do I have to be leased for the training or can I just show up?

 

Common sense tells me that a guy would need to be leased or at the very least approved for a lease before they would let you go through their training program. But I have been wrong once before, ok maybe twice. lol

 

There is no straight answer for Landstar. For example, Old Man makes more money than most BCO’s. If you went out and bought the same trailer he has, you wouldn’t make any where near it because he has the connections. I have pretty good revenue per mile this year, far better than most, because I have connections and am the first call or text for a couple agents. I’ve been here 10 years now and have a proven track record with these agents. Blair might be doing better than me, probably is with that trailer, but he does stuff I don’t want to do.

 

Blair is proof you can come to LS with no flatbed experience and in a few years be hauling super loads. But you have to earn it and prove yourself.
And he does stuff I don’t want to do either.

 

Me thinks he may have had some good coaching and help speeding things up too.
