I have 2014 prostar with maxxforce 13 engine. Two months ago I changed both EGR coolers, oil cooler, and water pump. It was fine for some time.

Recently I started noticing white smoke at the start of my day. The white smoke appears only after 10 hours idling while in the sleeper. First 3-5 miles of highway driving I would have lots of smoke and then it would be fine.

If truck is off over the weekend, and I start driving there is no smoke. I have added a bit coolant but not sure if it’s missing or due to colder temperatures.

I park the truck always at the same place and I didn’t notice any leaks. Is it possible EGR cooler is bad again or is it something else?

Are you saying that white smoke appears after engine idles for 10 hours than you start to drive and smoke appears for 3 or so miles and it goes away?
I'm assuming it is not a cold start smoke.
When you idle at 600 rpm range for 10 hours you're causing unburnt fuel condition, all that un-burn fuel creates " Cylinder Wash Down" you can Google details on this subject yourself. All I'm going to say, it is bad for your/any engine.
Raise your idle speed by engaging cruise control "on" than press "Set/coast"
Your rpm's will raise to 1k. Try this and see if smoke is still present, if yes then you may be burning oil not fuel if not that would indicate that it is in fact unburnt fuel.
    Report back your findings.

I've read many times that the Maxxforce should not be idled for long periods.

Unfortunately my truck is not programmed for high idle. I’ll have it checked out for fuel wash. Thanks

You should have someone with navistar software to change this setting for you, it's very important in your case. You should not idle for that long, it will create engine longevity issues, take care of it asap

    Heavyd Thanks this.
