I agree you don't calcute your own time @163$/h.
But calculating your own time @ 0$ is also wrong.
Then your are a slave off your truck.

Right but, it’s not like I’m on vacation in Tahiti while my truck is at the dealer being worked on either. Plus dealer is an hour each way. I got 4 man hours just to go drop it off and pick it back up? Including the use of a second person and vehicle.

Not many repairs I’ve done have taken more than 4 hours.
Plus most of the time I feel better knowing I did it.

I had to have a radiator put in on the road. 3 broken bolts (not fixed) and a glob of grease on the drivers seat. Not even so much as an I’m sorry.......

I don’t have to work so hard on the road and enjoy the time I spend in the shop wrenching. All possible because I’m not buried in a monster truck payment.

I’m glad there are people like me AND also people like the guy I’m leased to with a fleet of new trucks. Makes the world go around.

Enlighten me and others how you paid out off your own pocket repairs that should have been covered by warranty.
    I'm ready to learn something.

Here they are. Actually if you go to " ATRI operational cost of trucking" and get to page I think it is 18-19 and compare it to mine, they do not seem too unusual. Keep in mind though that the expenses listed in the survey, their respondents have an average 3 yr old truck and you have to convert US dollars into Canadian

90% of those expenses look like regular maintenance items to me.
