Many truckstops won't accept checks. Luckily truckstop around here is Conoco. I have their card... Bill cycle is monthly.

Right. The cash price is important, but I would really feel more comfortable with a 4 week float. I don't like to send my invoices off frequently because overnighting is so expensive, plus there's a $25 charge everytime money is wired. So I don't like the idea of having to shoot my paperwork off quicker to meet those deadlines, or the cost of just missing it!
Right now I have no worries because they just take it out whenever the paperwork gets there.
I'm just going to have to get one of my cards paid down enough to self-float I guess, then I can explore some other territories. It's only been 3 months, I'm not too worried yet. -
I just use my credit card and as soon as I get paid for those trips I make payment on line for the fuel I spent, so I might make a card payment three times a month but 0% that way. I used to carry cash until fuel got high and that was to much to carry. I remember the days I left the house with $500 and run all week. lol

Right, and I guess they probably shouldn't. There isn't a checking account out there that doesn't have a free debit card (also cash price). I know if I'm writing a check then something is fishy.

Yes, Also have Wright Express, Cenex. Cenex is monthly cycle. Of course all these cards have a limit on them.
Big John Thanks this. -
I am thinking about a Cenex card since they have a station down the road and they are a bunch in Kansas and Nebraska from what I see plus other states.

Just signed up with OOIDA today. Will be looking into their fuel card system shortly, hopefully its a useful hasslefree service.
I wouldn't even dream of trying to write a check at a truck stop lol. I would think you'd either get laughed out of the store or they would charge you some incredible fee for doing so. Either of which are certainly avoidable by simply using a debit card...
Come to think about it, I cant remember the last time I even wrote a check. Where the hell is my check book anyways??? lolPharmPhail Thanks this. -
Why not take a load here and there on your own? I'll feed them to you off Internet Truckstop.

I signed up to OOIDA Friday. Welcome to the club!
I forgot about my idea to have check writing priveleges at TA. I am going to sign up for that. I forget if they let you write checks for fuel or if it is just mainteneance... -
Well you can write a check and not get laughed at. Confirmed thru a friend that uses this and buys all his fuel at the Flying J and acouple other places. He signed up with NATSO and pays $30 a year and can write checks at most all the truckstop for repairs, fuel, cash or anything their. He has a seperate checking account that he uses for this purpose. The main reason he gets cash price for fuel and he can also get cash if he needs it, no more going to the ATM for a $3.00 fee. You use your debit card you will pay credit card price. They just run your check to verify your a memeber just like they run your credit card and your done.
