Those beach marks (look like fine waves in the sand) usually indicate fatigue fracture. The trunnion end probably had a hairline fracture in it for a while and when you stepped on it, it was too weak to handle the torque and sheared apart.

True. Same here. Always take care to wipe grit off zerks, grease them often, especially after rain.... water is really bad.OLDSKOOLERnWV, KB3MMX, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this.

I'm otr pulling a reefer 2013 isx .
I grease around 7500 .
Drain oil around 15000.
Fuel filters around 30000.
6% idle time and baby it .
Sometimes it goes a little over and sometimes less .
But that's my baseline .
I hate roadshops ! And avoid at all costs .KB3MMX Thanks this. -
I use one grease for everything. Haven't found anything to stay in place as long as the Amsoil Polymeric off road moly #2 EP so far.... it's some pretty wicked stuff. Every with that I don't run long grease intervals. 5k or less they're never close to getting dry.
S cams only get hit about every third to fourth greasing, slacks every other.mitmaks Thanks this. -
Can anyone recommend a grease fitting that makes u-joints easy to grease? I use lock n lube xl grease coupler and its a little difficult. Thanks in advance.
Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
Just a normal grease gun fitting

I bought that lock N lube and found it to be a pain in certain areas. I returned it. Not worth the money.
