Took a delivery to Kroger Wednesday. Broker wasnt sure i was going to make my appointment so they pushed it back. I made the original appointment time and they still would not unload me. Made me wait for 24hrs to the new appointment time. Man that pissed me off because it cost me a load and as an owner op that cost me a lot of $.

Stay away from this place if you have a live unload.

So is Kroger horrible or is your broker? Brokers lying about appt. times would not be a first. Of course any Kroger DC blows too, so....

I think it was a combination of both. I was told that Kroger's shipping department at that DC said they would take me as soon as i got there because they needed that load. The guy at the gate wouldnt even make a phone call to ask. And looked me dead in the eye and said "i dont give a #### what they said, im not checking you in until the appointment time"

Most likely its a combination of the 2 being horrible.

Your broker needs to be replaced with one who will stick you with late fees etc if you were actually late.

Not being sure etc is a sign of weakness in this industry. One time our own dispatchers dithered over us being ten minutes late for LA from NJ which is #### near 3000 miles and we told them it should be 7 minutes early when we got there. It was 4 minutes early skipping a fuel stop and making the Holbrook AZ one.

Thats one reason I am in the freight or was at one time committed to it because all of the appt based BS goes away, you are unloaded and reloaded within the hour back to Memphis for another drop hook at the shipper when you got there. All you needed to do is keep stamina going and pace yourself.

Many love to bash brokers I am not one of them , some of my best business relationships have come from and with freight brokers. However this is 1 problem you get into when you ADD ANOTHER entity into your business. More problems can come , many from just simple misconceptions and miscommunications.

Lot of great songs came from Memphis Tennessee though ... many many great songs.

Stuck in Mobile with the Memphis blues again

That’s how I got to Memphis

    Walking in Memphis

I’m sure there are tons more that I can remember
