Yes. Keep going and save money so you don't have to work as much later.
It helps if you like what you do... -
zigstar Thanks this.

D.Tibbitt, truckdriver31 and zigstar Thank this. -
I do a 34 every weekend. I work days doing local. so for me, physically it is more than enough time. But, mentally? there are times I pray to God hopefully the gate would be padalocked.
NavigatorWife, D.Tibbitt, zigstar and 1 other person Thank this. -
you got to have a burn barrel for a 34

i'd be hard pressed to not believe that there are many "9 to 5'ers" out there doing just that, and they only get (if lucky) the entire weekend off, and what's that...48 hours?NavigatorWife and zigstar Thank this. -
case in point, i just did the numbers.my bro-in-law puts in (at 2 jobs) a total of 65 hours. then there is like a total of (about) 6 hours total of his drive time to and from both jobs.
that's already at 71 hours for him, for the week.
now, many days, he has to show up earlier or leave later, at his first job, then get to his 2nd job, many times he HAS to stay later there.
so, his day starts at about 5 AM when he wakes up, and many days, does not end until 10 PM....
that's like what....17 hours on some days..??
and he doesn't get paid all those hours either..drive time...on him..lunch...he get's docked 30 minutes,
when he gets home on a friday night, he has the whole weekend off till 5 AM come monday....
he ain't no trucker, but he IS putting in as many (if not more) hours THAN a trucker does....
he don't complain much about his off time.NavigatorWife and zigstar Thank this. -
we used o work 6 or 7 12's on construction jobs for months on end, sometimes get a holliday off, but no such a thing as any resets.
When my son graduated he flew out to a remote mine and the deal was 84 hours a week and the only days he could take off was a week for 4th of july, until october, when they shut down for winter. He is greedy and just took 3 days of it off. lolNavigatorWife, D.Tibbitt, Tx Countryboy and 1 other person Thank this. -
A34 hr reset is an option, not a requirement.
NavigatorWife, MrEd, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this.
