Ok... So here is my situation. I wanted to install some red lights on the back of the cab of my 2020 FL Cascadia. I tried to wire them into the parking lights so that, obviously they would come on with the parking lights... No go. The SAM chassis won't allow it.

So someone suggested connecting them to a seperate switch... But for some strange reason FL chose to not install the opt switches on the dash on my truck... My 16 Cascadia had them. My boss doesn't want me drilling holes in the dash for new switches. It is a company truck.

So then someone suggested tying them into the tail light/clearance light circuit for the trailer because that circuit was much more forgiving in the sam chassis... Sounds good to me.

I am trying to figure out where to tie them in where it will be the least invasive (it is a company truck) and as easy as possible.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

go to a chrome shop, or look online for a thingamagig that you plug into the pigtail, get your power supply there. But why piss around doing this on a company truck? they could take from you at anytime, and give you something different, don't ask me how I know this.

You have to reprogram it for extra lights. So it knows when one goes out and when something is wrong.

I don't suppose that reprogram is something that I could do? I am sure it is a 2 minute job that the dealership charges $1000 for.

In the 1990's I remember company drivers replacing the white utility lights with red bulbs because they look cool still function and easy too remove when changing trucks

Yeah... That was my first attempt but the sam chassis on the new FL Cascadia won't allow those utility lights to be on while the truck is moving forward above about 10 mph.

Yes it will. Turn them on before you start moving and release the brake then before you hit ten mph shut them off then right before ten mph turn them back on. You then can drive at any speed with them on and shut them on and off at anytime until you shut the truck down or set the brakes I can't remember.
