I have been otr 10 months for a company out of north dallas area this is my first trucking company since obtaining my cdl . I am 22 yrs old and love being out weeks at a time . I decided that I'll like to do other things than just haul dry van . I have been thinking about going into driving tankers i have all the endorsements to my license & getting a twic card shouldn't be a problem. What do you guys think

Try it. You'll like it. I enjoy not having to deal with lumpers, sweeping out the trailer, or fighting for a dock.

Not much to think about. Non-KABOOM tanker is the best trucking job there is. Good luck, those drivers rarely quit. KABOOM tankers, not so much.

Very few drivers that switch to tankers ever go back to what they were driving before.

Wait a sec, didn't someone here drive for a NASCAR team, thinking it would be the greatest job, only to find out, it was the worst driving job he had. Fact is, very little of it was actually driving, and that was a somewhat respectable thing like NASCAR, can you imagine the jobs you'd have with the entertainment industry? Those people live like pigs. The upside is you'd probably get lucky with that group,,, a roadie with a CDL.
